GROSS
Beverley Irene

July 1, 1944 - July 4, 2021

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Mom.
She was born in Stettler, Alberta on July 1, 1944 then passed away at home July 04, 2021.
Mom was raised by her father Alvin Nighswander and stepmother Rita.
She later in life married Leslie Gross and they had 6 children; Brent (Abby), Brenda, Bonnie (Bruce), Bobby (Anna-Marie) and Jeff. They also had a daughter Laura who passed away in 1977. Mom leaves behind several grandkids and great-grandkids.
She worked at a few different jobs in her career. She worked at the Napier Theatre, the Travel Lodge and finally at Super 8 where she retired.
We will remember her in healthier times. We will miss her laughter and our many visits at the table playing scrabble and drinking green tea. She was a great cook. We all knew that 5:00 sharp was supper time. Sunday supper was the meal nobody missed growing up.
She loved when the grandkids came to visit. Her house was always busy with kids coming and going. She loved collecting angels, candles and had many plants. She
definitely had a green thumb.
Mom had a few extra special friends who were so good to her; Penny, Elaine and Angela.
A special thanks to Jeff and his friend Katherine for taking such good care of Mom in her failing years and making sure she was okay.
Rest in Peace Mom. We love you and will miss you dearly.

MARUZS
Dorothy Suzanne

July 11, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Dorothy Suzanne Maruzs announces her passing on July 11, 2021 at the age of 83 years. Dorothy will always be remembered for her generosity, kind-heartedness, stamina, and loyalty to family and friends.
Dorothy married Vince Maruzs on May 18, 1957. Vince passed away in 2003, giving them 46 years together before she was widowed. Dorothy will be lovingly
remembered by her three daughters: Sandra (Rob) Schneider of Drumheller, AB; Karen (Simon) Wells of Kamloops, BC; and Kim (Rick) Stuckless of Rosedale, AB. She will also be remembered by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. Dorothy is predeceased by her parents, Goldsby and Jessie
McCracken; husband, Vincent Maruzs Sr.; son, Vincent Maruzs Jr.; grandson, Andrew Stuckless, and brother, Don Langley.
Dorothy was born in Calgary AB, yet lived most of her life on a farm in Carbon, AB; first with her parents, and then with her husband Vince, as they took over the family farm. She attended the Gamble and Carbon schools. After Dorothy graduated, she worked in the Armed Forces in the clerical department for a time, before she married.
Dorothy thoroughly enjoyed bingo, as well as playing crib. Additionally, she had a passion for music, often playing her accordion for hours at a time. She also found pleasure by leisurely reading a variety of books and magazines, or doing Word Search puzzles. Dorothy’s gift for embroidery was evidenced by the beautiful tablecloths and pillowcases that she crafted. Dorothy enjoyed travelling when she had the chance and visited the country of Hungary, numerous provinces in Canada, along with a number of places in the USA.
Dorothy’s most important job was being a wife to Vince and a mother to her four children. Outside of homemaking, she occasionally worked various jobs which included hospitality at the Carbon Hotel, running a small egg business from the farm, as well as selling ice cream in a mobile ice cream truck.
Although Dorothy will be sorrowfully missed on this earth, we can rest in the knowledge that she is eternally with the Lord in Heaven.
Donations are appreciated in memory of Dorothy to the Three Hills Long-Term Care Hospital.

She loved her garden, but especially had a passion for her flowers and passed along her knowledge of plants to her family.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her joy; she was always willing to share her many talents with them. The time spent interacting with her grandchildren inspired who they have become, because of her kind, compassionate and loving nature.
She was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League for 65 years. Her experiences volunteering at teas and helping with banquets was in keeping with her giving nature and she formed many lifelong friendships.
In October of 2010, her and Dad would make Sunshine Lodge their new home. In February 2020, due to illness, Mom moved to Coalbanks.
Maria is survived by 3 daughters, Rosemarie Girardi, Velma (Dan) Scott, Angie (Murray) Evans. ENGEN
Cody Bradley

April 26, 1996 - August 21, 2021

It is with great sorrow and sadness we have to say we lost our sweet baby boy Cody at the age of 25. Our son was a sweet caring young man who loved his family. Cody liked to cook, he was very good, and would always take the time to make meals for his family. Cody was born and raised in Drumheller where as a little guy, he loved playing with his Tonka trucks in the dirt pile, running around with the biggest smile on his face. He loved to play hockey, and did from age 5-17 before graduating from DVSS. Cody always had a gentle heart, he was sweet and sensitive, and had a special bond with our pets. Cody is sadly going to be missed by his parents, Bradley and Deborah of Drumheller, and siblings Rachel and Brady. Cody was predeceased by Grandpa Clarence Engen and Grandma Pearl Watson.
He was loved by his Grandparents, Jim/Dale Watson, Grandma Eileen Engen, aunts/uncles Cindy Trottier, Mary/Lloyd Hodge, Keelan Brereton, Derek/Wendy Watson, Derek/Debbie Engen and Dana/Tim Zarowny, and many cousins. Cody is at peace now; he will forever be in our hearts. A private family service will be held once Rachel can return from Australia. No flowers please but rather if preferred, donate to a mental health/addiction organization in honour of our son, and so many who struggle.
