Doug loved music; he could play the “comb & paper”, the mouth – harp, the ukulele, the mandolin, the guitar, and the button accordion. He also sang in local choirs. Fishing was one of his favourite pastimes, and he and Julia made good use of the motor home visiting all the local fishing holes. Other favourite activities were ice curling, discing, floor curling, and card games – he loved playing 500, Crib, Canasta, and court Whist with his Hand Hills friends and neighbours, and Smear with “the boys”. And we cannot forget that he loved all animals, especially horses. Doug  was predeceased by; his parents Sterrie and Dulcie Lenfesty, his brother and sister-in-law Raymond and Barbara Lenfesty, his sister and brother-in-law Irene and Nick Chaykowski, his daughter-in-law Joan Clark Lenfesty, and his infant daughter Theresa Elaine. DAD

As I sat there close by your side,
All your wishes I had to abide.

I hope you went towards the light,
As you left us on Monday night.

The pain I felt it hurt so bad,
Gone so early it makes me mad.

It was hard to watch you give up your fight,
When you left us on that
mournful night.

I’ll have to wait until my
journey is done,
We will meet again and
I miss you a ton.

Here’s to you my Dad
and my friend,
It was an honour to stand
with you till the end.

Will never forget you and
will carry you in my heart,

Your loving daughter
Cheryl XOXO

There will be a private celebration of life held by Steve’s family at a later date.
